SJ Berwin LLP advises Plasmon Plc on its £8 million Placing

Tuesday 24th April 2007

SJ Berwin LLP advised long standing client Plasmon Plc on its placing of 40,000,000 new ordinary shares on the Official List, raising approximately £8,000,000 for the purposes of funding the continued development of its Ultra Density Optical (UDO) data storage technology.

In addition to its development commitments, Plasmon intends to increase its marketing expenditure to support the successful launch of its next generation UDO2 product; fund the working capital requirements of Plasmon; and strengthen Plasmon’s finances to provide confidence in its long-term viability to customers.

The SJ Berwin team was led by corporate partners Jonathan Djanogly and William Holder, assisted by Corrine Campbell.  Plasmon entered into a placing agreement with Investec Bank (UK) Limited under which Investec agreed to use reasonable endeavours to procure placees for the new ordinary shares issued pursuant to the Placing.  Investec was advised by Jeffrey Elway and Oliver Riley of Lawrence Graham LLP.
