SJ Berwin Advises ukbetting plc in its Acquisition of SCG Enterprises Limited

SJ Berwin represented ukbetting plc in its acquisition of SCG Enterprises Limited, the on-line sports betting business of Sports.com Limited (in administration), for a cash consideration of £100,000 and the assumption of liabilities of £570,000. SCG Enterprises Limited contemporaneously sold its wholly-owned subsidiaries, SCGE Limited and SmartBet N.V. to Wagerlogic Limited.

The SJ Berwin team was led by corporate partner Jonathan Djanogly, assisted by corporate solicitor David Bennett and commercial solicitor Emily Ivison. Sports.com Limited were represented by Allen & Overy whose team was led by banking solicitor Robert Westwater. Wagerlogic Limited were represented by Berwin Leighton Paisner, whose team was led by commercial partner Hilary Stewart-Jones.

Commenting on the offer, Jonathan Djanogly said: "This transaction represents a further step towards critical mass for ukbetting and SJ Berwin are delighted to have acted".
