SJ Berwin acted for Advent Venture Partners on the recently completed further equity investment in Elumin Limited.
The investment of up to £5.5 million in Elumin, which was led by Advent Venture Partners, was the company's second round of institutional funding.
Elumin is a privately owned company which is involved in the design and manufacture of electroluminescent materials. In addition to advising Advent Venture Partners on the further investment, SJ Berwin acted for Elumin on a related acquisition of certain of the business and assets of Cambridge Consultants Limited ("CCL").
Commenting on the deal, corporate finance partner Perry Yam said: "We first acted for Advent Venture Partners in relation to the initial investment in Elumin in August 2000. This further investment and related acquisition of a complementary electroluminescent business from CCL is evidence of the continued growth of the Elumin business. SJ Berwin is delighted to continue to be closely involved with Advent Venture Partners and is excited for the prospects of Elumin".
The SJ Berwin team was led by Perry Yam, assisted by Jonathan Betts.
