Leading corporate and commercial law firm SJ Berwin LLP has boosted its Planning and Environment Group with three new appointments.Daniel Farrand has joined the group as a solicitor from law firm Mills and Reeve. Daniel will concentrate on planning law work on large developments and infrastructure projects as well as providing transaction support on planning and environmental law issues. Daniel was admitted as a solicitor in 1999.
Emily Peters has joined from Bond Pearce LLP and will focus on environmental and renewable energy work. Emily was admitted to the High Court of Australia in 2003.
Meeta Kaur is qualifying into the group as a solicitor. She will be dual qualified as a solicitor and chartered town planner having previously spent eight years as an assistant team leader at Westminster City Council within its planning enforcement team. She also continues as a trustee for Planning Aid for London.
The new appointments take the total number of lawyers in the Planning and Environment team to ten. Partner Simon Ricketts commented, “The work for planning and environment lawyers continues to expand, given the level of development activity we are experiencing and the continuing impacts of Government planning legislation and policy. We will be continuing to boost our team to meet client needs”.
