SJ Berwin is pleased to announce the appointment of Nora Mullally, who recently joined as a Senior Lawyer in the Media & Communications Group. Nora was previously at the media and entertainment practice, Harrison Curtis.
Nora joins the team, headed by Nigel Palmer, to strengthen the firm's presence in the music industry. During her career, Nora has been involved in a broad range of matters in the entertainment field and has established herself as a specialist in the music business. She has experience both in private practice and in house at Sony Music and EMI Records. Nora has advised a variety of artists and their managers with regard to a broad range of legal and business affairs issues and has acted for a number of major record companies.
SJ Berwin has a strong reputation within the music industry for advising industry trade associations in respect of competition law related matters. The firm's practice is becoming more commercial, particularly in the advice given to major record companies.

Notes:
- Nora Mullally was educated at Kings College London (LLB (Law: Honours) 1982) following which she completed her Bar Finals at the Inns of Court School of Law in 1983. Having undertaken a pupillage at 1 New Court, the Chambers of George Carmen QC, Nora then attended Trinity College Cambridge to gain a Masters in 1985 and worked in private practice for some years before qualifying as a solicitor in 1991.
- Nora's career has always had a particular emphasis on the music industry, having held the positions of Business Affairs Manager for Sony Music Entertainment (UK) Ltd, Columbia in 1995 and then Business Affairs Director for EMI Records UK until 1997. She joined Harrison Curtis in 1999 and was invited to join the partnership in 2000.
