SJ Berwin LLP's Alternative Dispute Resolution Group is delighted to announce that Phillip Howell-Richardson has been admitted as a Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators.  Membership as a Fellow in the IAM is by invitation only, through recognition by peers and by the marketplace. The IAM is, first and foremost, the organisation for premiere active practitioners of commercial mediation anywhere in the world.  Phillip has also recently become a member of the Executive Advisory Committee and Panel Mediator of CPR, which is based in New York.

Phillip mediates successfully a wide range of disputes including insurance, IT, intellectual property, professional negligence, construction and engineering, property (including inheritance and agriculture issues), joint venture and distribution agreements, personal injury, employment and environment claims as well as commercial and contract disputes. In particular he has mediated several leading class actions, multi-party claims and international disputes.

He is the Honorary Chairman of ADR Net, a leading UK group of mediators, and an accredited mediator with ADR Group.  He is a Panel Member for the ICC in Paris and for the London Court of International Arbitration.  Phillip has been described in the Chambers directory as being "one of the legendary figures in the area" and "a star on any list".

SJ Berwin's ADR Group recently won the CEDR Award for Excellence in the Professional category.
