S J Berwin & Co is pleased to announce the appointment of Patty Mayer, who joins as a Senior Lawyer in the Media & Communications Group on 22 January 2001. Patty was previously the Senior Vice President of the Legal Division at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Commenting on Patty's appointment, Head of the Commercial Media Group Nigel Palmer said "We are delighted that a lawyer of Patty's ability and long experience in the Los Angeles studio system has decided to join us in strengthening the relationships between S J Berwin & Co and our many clients and contacts in California. Patty would be an asset to any law firm wherever it were based because of her understanding of the complex world of studio film production, financing and exploitation, an understanding which will be a great help to our clients in the sector both in the UK and abroad. She will be an enormous strength in helping S J Berwin & Co expand its international media practice".

Patty Mayer added, "I am looking forward to my new role and to providing a link between the European and American media and entertainment sectors".

Paty is also an accomplished amateur dressage rider who competes in international competition.
