SJ Berwin LLP Named EVCA/Real Deals Law Firm of The Year 2005
This award recognises an excellent year for the private equity team at SJ Berwin. Over the past 12 months we have acted on more than 120 private equity transactions, we have advised on many high-profile fund raisings, we have continued to advise the UK Government on its Enterprise Capital Fund initiative, and we have been actively involved in lobbying national and European governments on issues affecting the private equity industry.
Introducing the awards, Sir David Cooksey, EVCA Chairman, said: “These awards clearly demonstrate the current diversity and depth of private equity and venture capital in Europe. They are great examples of what our industry is about and what it can achieve. All of them demonstrate how successful private equity and venture capital can be in Europe.”
Jonathan Blake, head of European private equity at the firm, commented: “This is a tribute to the continued hard work of a very large, and rapidly growing, European private equity team at SJ Berwin. We are very proud of them, and grateful to all our clients for working with us during this exciting year.”
George Pinkham - head of our Paris office - collected the award on behalf of the European private equity team. George said “We are delighted to have received this award for the second year running. This is a fantastic achievement and highlights the continued strength of our pan-European private equity team. We were also thrilled to see so many of our valued clients receiving awards at the ceremony, and offer them our warmest congratulations.”

SJ Berwin is delighted to announce that - for the second year running - it was named "Law Firm of the Year" at the EVCA/Real Deals Private Equity Awards last night.This award recognises an excellent year for the private equity team at SJ Berwin.
