SJ Berwin senior Corporate Finance Partner Philip Goldenberg has welcomed the Company Law Review as a "superb process".
The final report, which is the culmination of over three years of work by many leading company law academics and practitioners, "brings the architecture of company law out of its Victorian superstructure into a modern framework" says Philip.
Philip Goldenberg, who was a leading adviser to the Review on the key topic of directors, shareholders and stakeholders, said that the report "gets it absolutely right by treating the shareholder versus stakeholder argument as a piece of bogus British adversarialism, and rightly concludes that the correct approach is 'both and' rather than 'either or'".
"The Report's combination of enlightened shareholder value and greater transparency" continued Philip "is the key to successful corporate governance".
