We are very proud to announce that our Corporate lawyers have been voted European Law Firm of the Year (Fund Formation) for the sixth year running, and came second in the European Law Firm of the Year (Transactions) category for the second year running, by Private Equity International.

As in previous years, this award was based on votes from the Private Equity industry and this year attracted a larger number of voters across a broader demographic than ever before, underlining the continuing prominence of the Private Equity practice at SJ Berwin.

This award crowns an absolutely stellar 2007 for our Corporate department

• We advised on private equity fundraisings totalling in excess of 60 billion euros 
• We advised GP's on more than 90 fund formations across Europe
• We have the largest private equity funds team in Europe
• We won a total of seven prestigious awards and advised Sir David Walker on his Review of Private Equity
• Our European Buyouts practice was ranked 4th for European buyouts and in the top ten globally by volume at the end of 2007
• Our M&A team saw a major increase in high value transactions across a number of sectors
• We were active in a number of emerging markets including Russia, Africa, India and Pakistan.
